Electoral College

So I have seen a couple people post the argument for the electoral college saying Hillary only won something like 57 counties and I’ve seen a whole lot of people “yell” about how wrong it is… so I did the research myself.

While the original post is not absolutely correct, it’s not that far off. If you look at the image I attached, I have breakdowns of numbers and links to where I got those numbers.

In short, Hillary Clinton’s popular vote lead in NYC (5 Counties) and LA (1 county) was 3,202,349 (2.33% of the national vote). Hillary Clinton’s popular vote lead for the entire US was only 2,868,519 (2.09% of the national vote). What this tells us is that the popular vote lead in just 6 counties (out of 3,141 counties in the US) would have been enough to give Hillary the Presidency if we elected based on the popular vote. The popular vote lead from just those 6 counties (3,203,349; 2.33%) is more than the popular vote lead for the entire country (2,868,519; 2.09%).

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want 0.19% of the counties or just 2.09% of the voters in the country telling me how to live.

We need to keep the electoral college intact.
