He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.

Emergency weather alerts coming soon to a cell phone near you

(National Weather Service) If you have a cell phone, it may soon make some curious sounds and vibrations the next time you find yourself in the possible path of a tornado or several other types of weather emergencies.

Starting any day now, the Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) system will go live. That means National Weather Service warnings for dangerous weather, including tornadoes, flash flooding and hurricanes, will be delivered free of charge to many mobile users on major wireless carriers. The alerts will look like text alerts, but use a different technology that is not affected by network congestion.

The WEA system is “location-based,” which means that you only receive alerts relevant to your physical location. In other words, if you travel to another city, you’ll receive alerts for where you are, not back home.

AMBER Alerts and Presidential Alerts during a national emergency will also be delivered through the WEA system. If you have a WEA-capable phone, you’ll receive alerts unless you opt out (you can’t opt out of Presidential Alerts, however).

Interestingly, the alerts will *not* interrupt phone conversations, but rather will be delayed until a call is finished.

OK, so, now you’ve read that. It sounds good, doesn’t it? Now you don’t have to look for a special app to track the weather and weather warnings around you, right?
But wait, hold on a second, let me re-read this, something just doesn’t feel right about it. What was that piece that caught my attention?
Hmmm… oh, yeah, there it is, “AMBER Alerts and Presidential Alerts during a national emergency will also be delivered through the WEA system. If you have a WEA-capable phone, you’ll receive alerts unless you opt out (you can’t opt out of Presidential Alerts, however).

So, while this system will appeal to the lazy masses, it doesn’t occur to them that the federal government will now be empowered to “provide” you with any information they want, based on your location. This means that the governments own computers will undoubtedly be tracking your every movement with your cell phone. I know, you say they already do that, and I won’t disagree, the only difference as I see it is that right now the government has to “request” that data from a third party (just because the third parties never deny them doesn’t mean they aren’t required to “ask”). Since this WEA program is a location based service to provide you with real-time alerts, this means the computers must know where you are. Does anyone believe that the government will “forget” to disable the memory on those computers?

I also see a lot of other reasons why this is a bad thing, but I don’t know where to begin pointing them out.

OK, so that’s where I’m at, this is one more violation against us, but what do we do about it? I’m open to suggestions here. Short of lead flying, I’m not sure what we can do.

I’m a little late to the show on this one, but I left BofA about 3 years ago and haven’t looked back.

Our actions to restore our nation to its original founding principles are coming to a crossroads. We have been divided in our efforts through an inability to focus upon one issue as a whole. Most of our efforts have been (and still are) focused on the 2012 elections and political ideologies. Our nation was founded on Liberty, not political power and agendas. We need a tangible goal now to show that patriots (not partisans) still control our destiny. One goal, one victory will show that We the People are in control of Liberty’s future.
We believe that the recent events surrounding the Bank of America can become this goal to win our first battle. This institution has decided that the 2nd amendment of the Constitution of the United States is not in line with their bank’s code of ethics. We understand that this amendment’s purpose was to protect us from an abusive government. It appears that they feel it may be used to protect us from abusive financial institutions as well. And they may be correct: the distinction between government and financial institutions in our country is gone.
The Bank of America is the country’s largest bank with assets of $2.3 trillion. This bank currently has $75 trillion in credit derivatives.
Here is a list of additional grievances:
This financial institution has been found guilty of laundering South American drug money in 2006 ($7.5 million settlement).
They received $20 billion in US Treasury support with an additional $118 billion government backstop to buy Merrill Lynch.
They failed to properly disclose employee bonuses and financial losses at Merrill Lynch before shareholders approved the merger of the companies: $150 million settlement with the SEC.
Bank of America Illegally Foreclosed on Active Service Members’ Homes. Settlement agreement was $20 million.
Their purchase of Countrywide resulted in a loss of $65 billion to stockholders.
They paid $335 million to settle Countrywide’s housing discrimination claims.
They paid $410 million to settle a class-action lawsuit affecting more than 13 million Bank of America customers who accused the bank of charging excessive overdraft fees for electronic transactions.
Bank of America moved approximately $18 trillion worth of derivative obligations from Merrill Lynch and the BAC holding company to the FDIC insured retail deposit division. This transfers the risk from the bank to the taxpayers since the FDIC cannot cover this amount.
Their executives are major donors to the president’s reelection campaign.
The president will give his acceptance speech for the Democrat nomination for president at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
Warren Buffett injected $5 billion into Bank of America for special considerations for stock warrants and a 6% annual return for ten years. This bank’s regular personal savings account pays 0.05% annually.
We propose the following actions to be taken immediately:
1. Close out any personal or business accounts with Bank of America.
2. If you are a business, do not accept their debit or credit cards for purchases.
3. Sell your personal stock in this bank.
4. If your retirement or mutual fund owns stock in this bank, request that they divest it from their portfolios.
5. Help spread this effort in any manner that you can.
6. Fill out the form at this link showing what actions you took based on this project.
No institution has maligned the principles and morality of our nation as the misnamed Bank of America. It is past time to stand up with actions instead of words.

Calling Cards?

I was reading this post from AP this morning, and I was going to post this in his comments but I decided to keep it separate:

I’ve been thinking lately that we need to have “calling cards” that we all can agree on so that “they” know that whatever just happened wasn’t random. I’m thinking a simple phrase or word and/or image that can be printed on business card stock out of any printer on the planet and left where it will be found.
I’m not talking about killing anyone, but the other acts of resistance… vandalism or whatever.
Say someone were to cut the valve stems off of all of the squad car tires outside the donut shop, then they leave one of these cards under the wiper blade or something.

I’m thinking of this because I want to start warning “them” that the lines have been drawn and they have been crossed. But I also don’t want them to think it’s just a random thing by some high school punks trying to make their friends think they’re cool. I want them to know that they were specifically targeted for their role in the growing tyranny. The main reason that I believe they should be standardized calling cards for everyone is so that they won’t point to any one person.

Indeed, I want them to wonder how much we will tolerate before they have to start worrying, “when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family?

What do you think their meetings will be like when someone stands up and admits that his tires were deflated, or somebody stuck a III sticker on his cruiser window while he was supposed to be paying attention? Simple vandalism is one of the greatest tools of psyops, in my unprofessional (and uneducated in these things) opinion. For example, when I was in AIT and my battle buddy and I were on a 4 hour pass we stumbled across a toy store and picked up several bags of those little green army men. We wrote the countdown (to graduation) on the bottom and made a game out of sneaking them into the CQ sign in and placing them where they couldn’t be missed, but not getting caught. We had to recruit a couple friends to help us do this, but it drove the Drill Sergeants nuts. They couldn’t catch us. They raided the barracks, but we were warned because one of us overheard them talking about it. That night, we made sure that everyone had one on their boots (even the females got them, we recruited some of them too) when the raid happened so they couldn’t isolate anyone for having one in their possession. Again, it drove them absolutely crazy. They began to literally stand there watching everyone sign in for duty and watching every move we made while in the room… we still managed to leave them right under their noses without getting caught. They spent more time trying to catch us than they did watching tv when they were on night duty. We made it 48 days (to graduation) and were never caught. At the end, we presented Senior Drill with a plaque that identified everyone involved. I know for a fact this drove them all nuts because years later at JRTC I ran into one of my former Drill Sergeants and we talked about it. He admitted that they were all desperately trying to figure it out because they were all going nuts over it (he also admitted that it did make the trail more enjoyable for them all after it was over).

Anyway, we need to get in their heads everywhere. Let us start to actively resist. Force them to step it up (or, God willing, step it back). Keep harassing them, but make sure they know they are being harassed.

Any thoughts about that?

Improving Yourself

Since I’m not a great orator, nor am I any kind of motivational speaker, I started this blog just to post my own thoughts, opinions and actions (depending on what the action may or may not be). So, along those lines, CA, AP and JM have all been harping on personal improvement for quite some time (at least as long as I’ve been reading any of them). There are some things from each of them that strike me. One of them is this photo:


While I wasn’t quite that big, I am considered obese by most standards (including my own). I’ve got two bad knees, a bad back, a bad shoulder and neck pain. Each of these things have contributed to my excuses for not exercising (and not paying attention to what I was putting into my body didn’t help either). I have tried to lose weight in the past, sometimes temporarily successful, but it’s never been permanent because I wasn’t quite as aware of what’s going on in the world. Leaving out what’s happening in the world, being overweight is definitely NOT good for bad knees and backs. My fat hurts me. It doesn’t just make me slower, it actually, physically hurts me. So, several months ago I decided that I needed to lose weight again, but this time I need to actually keep it off. Phase one was just changing my diet. To assist me with this, I found a free app for my phone that merely allows you to put in a starting weight, a goal weight and how much you’d like to lose per week (along with height, age, etc) and it’ll calculate how many calories you should eat to lose weight at the appropriate speed. I’m not going to name it because there are a lot of free apps out there that will do this. I’ve been doing this for about 4 months now and I have lost about 26 pounds. It’s a good start, but I’ve hit a plateau. I have remained right around my current weight for coming on two weeks. It is time for me to add exercise to my “diet”. Because of my injuries, I can’t run at my current weight, it’s too much impact on my knees. I have an elliptical in the house, but I hate that. A) it’s boring and B) I can’t stretch out and run at a truly comfortable pace. When I was in the army, I was running just over a 6 minute mile. For someone that’s just over 5’4″ tall, that’s moving and it requires being able to stretch my legs. So, I have started the search for a bicycle. I haven’t found the one I will buy yet, but I’ve started the research. I’ve talked to friends that ride competitively and been to a bike shop to get pointers. I’ve narrowed my search down to what’s called a ‘hybrid’, now I’m trying to find a good deal (money is always a factor).
OK, so I’m working on the physical. While I am always working on the mental, I believe I am prepared to do what I must. Only a true test will determine whether I am actually ready for that. The final phase of getting ready is equipment. While my weekends activities were planned before this post by ND, this quote about sums it up:

Unwavering conviction in your ability demands a “software-centric” approach to training and preparation. Even within the “dedicated, cold-dead hands three percent,” there are masses of gnu-owners who purchase a firearm at their local sporting goods store or gun shop, along with a box or two of ammunition, based on the advice of the inexperienced, minimum-wage clerk (or strangers on the internet forums…). Then, the firearm and ammunition gets tossed in a closet or drawer and is promptly forgotten. These people place absolute faith in the weapon, expecting it to solve their potential future problems. The firearm becomes a sort of magical talisman in their mind. This “hardware-centric” approach is the route of amateurs, the path to hell-fire and damnation.

So, in that vein, I attended my first Appleseed shoot. Prior to this weekend I considered myself an adequate shot. Saturday showed me that while I may not be “too bad”, I’m not that great either. I had a few problems. I took a S&W M&P-15 with a CMMG .22 LR AR Conversion Kit and a box of Remington “Golden Bullets” that the guy who sold me the kit recommended. The first problem was the ammo. That Rem stuff was getting a misfire about 1 out of every 10 rounds. I have some with multiple hammer strikes that didn’t go off. So, one of the cadre gave me a box of Federal ammo to use, that problem was fixed. The next problem was zeroing. I could not get my AR zeroed with the .22’s. I finally gave up trying to zero so the other two shooters (and me) could move on. None of us were able to qualify on Saturday. One of the cadre went home and did a little searching and found out that the conversions practically never get better than 6 MOA accuracy. That is terrible, and nowhere near good enough to qualify at an Appleseed.
So, Sunday rolls around and he tells me about this at breakfast. After much cussing and complaining about wasted money, I decided to try to zero/qualify with my AR in its original configuration (expense is the reason I did not do this previously). So, I got zeroed fairly quickly and we went to shooting for quals. I was unable to qual with my AR. I was zeroed fine, but my bad shoulder was not liking the weather (never got above freezing) and by the time I got to phase 4 I could no longer hold steady. I was going to call it a day at lunch, but one of the cadre offered to let me use his 10/22 to try. So, a quick zero and no adjustments later, we started shooting for quals again. It took me a couple tries with an almost qual first (I miscounted on phase 4 and put an extra hole in the first target which cost me 10 points):

The next round was going to be my last, no matter what, so they asked me if I wanted to do “Rapid Fire” and I did. I got qualified in 3 minutes (out of 4 available) with a 212. Got my picture and my patch:

I am very grateful that Gary let me use his firearm. I had a great time, but even more I learned a lot which helped me become a better shooter, now it is up to me to practice. I will definitely be returning to more Appleseeds, and I’ll be taking my wife next time (she’s already signed up for March).

So, yeah, we need to learn and train, what are you doing to improve?

Followup to the VIPR post

Since I made my post about the VIPR teams, several people have asked about whether I think that they want to get hit. Give them an excuse to lash out, etc.

I actually have thought about that, quite a bit. It factored into my planned response if you can believe it.

There are several thoughts that have been running through my mind about this, but I’ll start here: No, I don’t think the people manning these checkpoints want to be hit. In fact, I think it will scare the ever-livin’ shit out of them when they do. I’m not even sure the people planning these things expect them to get hit. TPTB think that we are spineless. Mike V. has covered this numerous times in his responses to the gun control cowards. They are projecting their cowardice onto the general population. They don’t really believe it will ever happen. And can we really blame them? When is the last time one of their anti-Constitutional paper-check parties got violently disbanded? *crickets*
Yeah, that’s what I thought. So, no, I don’t think they expect to ever get hit, but I do know, without any doubt, that when they do get hit they will push for stricter controls. (Never let a crisis go to waste, right?)

Another thought is, how comfortable would you be knowing that you were bait? If the people manning these checkpoints knew that there were snipers on overwatch because they expected any kind of serious trouble, you don’t think any of them would quit their jobs and start blabbing about it? Complaining about how their bosses expected them to be prepared to get shot at? And even if they were given that warning, do you think that none of them would follow that line of thought through to, OK, might someone try to ambush us instead of flipping out right in front of us where we have superior advantage?
I know plenty of people that do enforcement jobs simply for the paycheck and the perks, but if you told them there was a sniper on overwatch because bad shit just might happen, they’d quit. They have no intention of dying for their jobs, it’s a paycheck, not a firmly held belief system. They don’t really care what they’re doing, and as long as they’re the ones with the guns they’re fine as can be with it, but tell them that someone might actually start shooting at them in the dark because they’re running a sobriety checkpoint and they’ll choose desk duty every day of the week and twice on holidays. It is my opinion that the vast majority of the people with “badges” manning these checkpoints are gigantic cowards. They took these jobs because they get to exercise power over other people. And as has been mentioned by David, they aren’t the smartest people available.

So, no, I don’t think they are currently expecting to die for running these random checkpoints. They may get hit a couple times before they start putting out an overwatch (or get enough revolting to not be able to man them).

OK, so we’ve covered that. The second part to it is: I will be passing through said checkpoint at least once. From there, I can do a recon and look for any signs of an overwatch position. If I feel that it is a risk, I will take some other action.

Yes, I am concerned that they might be expecting it, if I wasn’t I’d be an idiot. But I also don’t think they are street smart enough. Don’t underestimate your opponent, but don’t overestimate him to the point of paralysis either. (Someone else said that to me, but I have no idea who at this point).

Trouble Sleeping Ahead

A very disturbing thought just occurred to me.
Remember a couple of months ago when the DOJ decided to make it legal for them to lie to anyone and say that “no documents exist” in response to any FOIA requests they might receive?
OK, now there’s this new NDAA that does not specifically prohibit the indefinite detention of American Citizens captured on American soil just because the government says so. (No link, it is recent enough that damn near every blog and even some “mainstream” “news” networks are talking about it).

So, the thought that occurred to me was:
Fedgov decides I’m a threat. They break into my house and manage to capture me without killing me or my family. They ship me to Gitmo. My wife contacts an attorney who then contacts the agency that my wife says entered my house (they all have big white letters, right?). Said agency denies entering my house and denies the existence of any documents about me or any investigation they may have had ongoing about me.

What next? My wife saw them do this, hell, maybe the neighbors saw it too. But the government says it didn’t happen. What then?

Does this disturb anyone else as much as it disturbs me?

I need to update my security and figure out how to safely feed that video somewhere other than my home computer. At least that way there would be evidence of these “unidentified bandits” that the lawyer could use to get “law enforcement” involved in looking for me. I mean, after all, if a government agency didn’t take me it must have been a gang of criminals (but why would they leave my family behind?)

OK, I need to stop now, I’m scaring myself.

They haven’t done anything to me… yet

I’ve had a few thoughts running around in my head lately, and reading some of AP’s and CA’s recent posts has only been pushing the point home for me. Some of the specific posts are: The Fan Is Already Covered In It, Mommy, Make The Bad Man Stop, Quit Learning What You Already Know, Robbery And Opportunity, Support Your Local Police (State), Res Ipsa Loquitur, Vanderboegh: More On The Crisis Of Legitimacy, Civil War, And Resistance. There are many more from these two and others (many of whom are linked within the links in this post), but I’d like to actually say something before you get too tired of reading everyone elses posts.
The main recurring thought for me has been, when is it time? This is the hardest thing to admit to, but the time is now… actually, the time was about 30 or 40 years ago (or more) but it is what it is, and it is time. I say again, this is the hardest thing for me to admit/accept. I am a good person with a pretty solid set of morals, and I believe that all of us that want to be free are together in that. The reason it’s so hard for me to accept that the time is now is that “they” haven’t actually done anything to “me”. I mean sure, they tax the crap out of me. They make me follow insane rules. But they haven’t actually done anything to me. I’m still “free” (I’m not in jail, right?) I’m alive and I have a good job. I can pack up the family and drive somewhere for vacation… I can’t fly because I refuse to travel unarmed and I can’t take any weapons on the plane with me… and the driving thing has to be done carefully so they have no reason to inspect my car and find the personal protection available to me, but I can still do it. I’m still free, right?
As I said, I’m a good person with strong morals and breaking the law is wrong… right?
Well, every day that goes by we hear another news story about a different cop or politician breaking the law with impunity. “Well,” you say, “they’ll get justice.” But then they don’t, and they do it again and again and again. Every time they get away with it, they move up in the world of crime. But if they’re not getting in trouble and everyone knows, are they really breaking the law?
Justice has not been served to the “elite” for way too long. The time is NOW to start serving justice again, and if the cops and robbers politicians won’t do it, then we must. Now, we all know that to serve justice is currently against the law, so I won’t even begin to suggest what justice needs to be served, only that they it needs to happen, desperately. Obviously, begging “them” to make things right isn’t working. I’ve been to rallies, I’ve contacted my reps, but it’s not working. Every once in a while someone appears to be listening, and then they do something that proves they aren’t. Until the “elite” fear the People, nothing will get better.
If you decide to start serving Justice, be discrete, don’t get caught. If you get caught, you’ll be painted as a lunatic. Do your family and friends know you well enough to know that you’re not a lunatic? Will they still love you after the “horrible” things you’ve done? Can you live with yourself if they don’t? I don’t give a damn what the “elites” call me, I have a few choice words for them too, but if my family thinks I’m insane it will destroy me. Have you thought this through? Have you accepted the fact that the only one you have to answer to is your maker… and if you don’t believe in Him, then you only have to answer to yourself and your family.
Like I said, The Time IS NOW. Stop waiting for mommy to fix it. Maybe when enough of the criminals have been properly punished, the other criminals will start to change their ways. And when they don’t (I have very little faith in them), you’ll have already taken care of some of them, that makes the remaining number smaller… that improves your odds.

Per David’s Request

After reading David’s request today, I decided that the best way for me to do that is to contact all of them and share it here (I do have my own blog now, why not post it?). Below is the text I sent to each of the candidates, and then below that will be the links that I used to send it.

Dear presidential candidate,
I would like to draw your attention to a recent article by David Codrea titled “Demand Republican presidential contenders take a stand on ‘Gunwalker’” at Please read that article and then answer the two major questions that he posed:
• As a candidate for president, will you issue a statement calling for reauthorization of an Independent Counsel to investigate all aspects of the “Fast and Furious” scandal, and to follow the trail wherever it leads? And will you recommend prosecution where evidence warrants it, and punishment of those found guilty—no matter how high up in the government they are or have been?
• If elected, will you direct the attorney general to conduct a full and transparent investigation to include vigorous prosecutions where warranted?
If you need more information on ‘Gunwalker’ before making your decision, I suggest you start with David’s “Journalists Guide to ‘Project Gunwalker’” at . Start with the first link, but don’t skip any of them (there are currently 6 pages of links). These are a timeline of the reporting and comments on the story by David Codrea and Mike Vanderboegh, the two independent citizens that initially broke the story and have pushed it this far. It is their efforts that have gotten this story in front of Congressman Issa and gotten the Congressional hearings started. There has been some “mainstream” media coverage, so after you read through David’s guides, do an internet search for ‘Project Gunwalker’ and/or ‘Fast and Furious’.
After you’ve done your research, please, answer those two questions. But please note that your response will be shared with the world and you will be held accountable. Please also note that no response is still a response.

Where are we?

This post is pretty much the reason I decided to start blogging. I’ve been trying to formulate my thoughts about where we are and why we haven’t done anything about the tyranny we are under. I’m going to take a page from Alvie’s book and use some movie scenes to try to illustrate my point. This is what I’ve come up with…

I believe that we are all here:

We all perform our little acts of disobedience, like walking up the aisle while the monsignor is speaking to the congregation… did you catch what the monsignor said? “Now, we must all fear evil men, but there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men!”

I think that is where we are. We are each off in our own little piece of the world, mulling over the tyranny and corruption of the government. Very few of us have had our individual breaking point happen to us yet. For the brother’s in Boondock Saints, it was when the Russian mobsters tried to issue payback.

Afterwards, the brothers turn themselves in to the police. There it is determined that it was self-defense and they are released without charges (good luck on that happening today). After that, it occurs to them that there is a lot of evil in the world that no one seems to be doing anything about, so they decide to take action, to no longer be indifferent to evil.

Again, I think that is where we are. I am not advocating that we each go out and start killing off the evil bastards. I’m just saying that I think this is why we are all so frustrated. Our hands are tied. We have morals, and while they may be different for each of us, I know that mine tell me I can’t kill unless I (or my family or an innocent) am in immediate danger. I guess that this thought ties into AP’s question about Duty and Self-Preservation. If you know that a gang with a history will be coming for you and your family/neighbors, it’s a different story than where we are now. We each know that the government has no respect for us and our God-given rights, but they haven’t come to my door and told me to hand over my guns (yet?). And while their actions lean in that direction, we don’t know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, what their intentions are.

But what do we do right now? Before they knock on our doors? I attend rallies, I vote (however useless that may be, it keeps my conscience clean), I Open Carry, I stand up to “officers” and “officials” as much as I am currently comfortable doing (hey, I have a 4-month old son at home to think about too), I break (more than) a few stupid laws every day, but what does that get us?

We are each preparing for that final straw (you are preparing, right?), but we are getting restless. Well, I can’t speak for everyone else, but I know I am. This waiting is killing me. I have no idea what the future holds for my children (I have an 8 year old step-daughter too), I would like to believe that they can have the same, or more, Freedom than I did/do, but that’s not what I see coming. I don’t like what I see, and the stress of waiting is making me old.

All I can do is tell myself not to rush it, to enjoy what I have while it lasts, because for better or worse, America will not be the same forever, and… prepare,

And don’t forget the rope.
